    We need some more information.

-What error do you get when you attempt to connect?
-Does "ping orares1.host.com" return the correct IP address?
-If so, can you telnet to port 1158 on orares1.host.com?

Ok, so pinging orares1.host.com resolved to 172.16.2.28, and it replied... right? What about telnet?

Also, can you run "emctl status dbconsole" on the server and post the results?

    telnet 172.16.2.28 1158
You may need to enable it first:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc771275(v=ws.10).aspx

You can also check to see if the console is listening on the server with the following:
    [root@ora11gr2ee ~]# netstat -tulpn|grep 1158
    tcp        0      0 :::1158                     :::*                        LISTEN      21776/java

Can you try connecting to the EM using the IP address rather than the host name as you have tried in the first place?

    Aman....

    Hi,

Telnet 172.16.2.28 1158 shows only a blank command prompt window.
    And dbconsole is running.

which confirms connectivity & that no firewall prevents browser to get to webserver

    Good,

Try the following URLS and let us know what happens:
    http://172.16.2.28:1158/em/console/aboutApplication
    https://172.16.2.28:1158/em/console/aboutApplication

It sounds like "http://172.16.2.28:1158/em/console/aboutApplication" is the correct URL then. Try a different browser, and see if the same thing happens. Also if you can post a screen shot so we can see what this question mark looks like, that would be helpful.
