    do you have error of commission ( doing something wrong)
    or error of omission (not doing something required)?
    I don't know & neither do you.
    Since I don't really know EXACTLY what you do, I can't guess what fix is required.

    post results of following OS commands

    id
    env | sort

    i have already pasted the result of the id command.
    i followed the sequence of the oracle docs. i added the packages, as i think problem will be in the bash profile. im not sure.
    this is the code i added.

    # Oracle Settings
    TMP=/tmp; export TMP
    TMPDIR=$TMP; export TMPDIR

    ORACLE_HOSTNAME=fedora14.localdomain; export ORACLE_HOSTNAME
    ORACLE_UNQNAME=DB11G; export ORACLE_UNQNAME
    ORACLE_BASE=/u01/app/oracle; export ORACLE_BASE
    ORACLE_HOME=$ORACLE_BASE/product/11.2.0/db_1; export ORACLE_HOME
    ORACLE_SID=DB11G; export ORACLE_SID
    ORACLE_TERM=xterm; export ORACLE_TERM
    PATH=/usr/sbin:$PATH; export PATH
    PATH=$ORACLE_HOME/bin:$PATH; export PATH

    LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$ORACLE_HOME/lib:/lib:/usr/lib; export LD_LIBRARY_PATH
    CLASSPATH=$ORACLE_HOME/JRE:$ORACLE_HOME/jlib:$ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/jlib; export CLASSPATH

    if [ $USER = "oracle" ]; then
    if [ $SHELL = "/bin/ksh" ]; then
    ulimit -p 16384
    ulimit -n 65536
    else
    ulimit -u 16384 -n 65536
    fi

    Why not? you were able to post the result of the id command ...
    [oracle@localhost ~]$ dbca
    Command not found.
    Looks like you are inserting your interpretaion of the result. An actual similar result on a linux system would look like this:
    oracle:rmcat$ fubar
    -bash: fubar: command not found
    It's really quite simple. The executable file 'dbca' (or 'fubar', in my example) is not found in any directory listed in your PATH variable.
    thank you...!

    According to the above, ORACLE_HOME seems to be "/u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1" whereas in your bash_profile it is set to "ORACLE_HOME=$ORACLE_BASE/product/11.2.0/db_1; export ORACLE_HOME"

    Also, Fedora is not a certified distro for Oracle 11gR2 - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/install.112/e24321/pre_install.htm#CHDFFBIF - so things may or may not work as expected

    First Fedora is not certified OS with Oracle , You can enable KVM and choose certified OS , Second Check your bash_profile again.
