I have installed OBIEE 18.104.22.168 on a Linux Machine.
I have done the Enterprise Install when I installed it.
I want to have another instance (instance2) on the same server and same machine.
Would it be required to set up shared presentation services(!!) and repository in my case?
Also, when I am trying to create another instance using Scale Out Option ,the system by default is taking the domain_home and the application_home ( I have only one domain home and application home)
However I am getting an error that this folder is not empty. Any help on this please?
Do u intend to have a master and slave setup wherein you have the same RPD and catalog in both the instances?
If so, go for a vertical scale out.
Do u intend to have multiple RPD's and Catalogs in the 2 instances?
If so, run the config.bat file (in windows) there should be an equivalent file for linux.
This file will configure the ports so that you have 2 independent instances, with different port numbers for EM, Console and Analytics.

I have tried with the procedure you mentioned.
The config.sh file is present in the /Oracle_BI1/bin directory.
However, as I have only one domain home and application home when I try to proceed with the installation, I am encountering error "Validation of application home location failed, the location specified already exists and is a non empty directory" for Domain Home and
similar error for Application Home.
That worked! Actually I was trying with Scale Out Option. Looking at the screenshot I realised that it should have been " Create an new BI"
