I am little bit confused about the Certification Path of OCM "Step 2 - Complete Training" - Complete two of the approved advanced courses.
My questions are
1) What if I already clear the 1z0-054 paper (listed in approved course list) without any training. Does it counts or not?
2) Does the ILT training that I already completed for OCP counts? since it is also listed in the approve courses list.
For ready reference, OCM Certification Path available at following link.
Where it says:
Oracle Database 11g Administrator Certified Master
Please note that you must complete TWO of the courses from the list below to fulfill the OCM training requirement. if you used one of these courses to qualify for your OCP certification, you may not use the same course to meet the OCM requirement of 2 advanced hands-on courses.
From these and other information at http://certification.oracle.com the budding OCM candidate will realise he needs to achieve 2 more training courses to be eligible for OCM DBA entry, and that attempts to substitute passing an exam in lieu of attending a training course will not succeed.
Thanks for detailed answer. It is really helpful.
But I am afraid, there is another question in mind,
Does Hands-on Training required can be fulfilled by Self-Study CDROMs or it is necessary to attend a Intstructor-Led Training in Oracle or Partner Institute?
That is specifically answered in one of the links that was posted last time1 person found this helpful
"Please note that only instructor-led in-class, online, or recorded courses (includes Live Web Classes – LWC, Live Virtual classes – LVC and Training On-Demand courses) from the approved list of Oracle University courses count toward the training requirement. Self Study CD-Rom and Knowledge Center courses are excellent study and reference tools but DO NOT meet the Hands-on Requirement for certification."
