Yeah, it's a problem in NetBeans.
"Bug 225326 - Allow usage of early JDK8 builds for FX projects in early NB8 builds"
Which is fixed but out of 7.3 scope so it won't show up in a stable build for (likely) months.
The branch the fix is in is the NetBeans 8 branch, which isn't scheduled for release until December 2013.
So you will have to rely on unstable NetBeans nightly builds if you want to develop with JavaFX 8 and NetBeans.
jdkb77 has only been out 2 days and already two people have reported a problem.
Given many people are likely to have this issue over the next year, I would like to make this a sticky thread, but unfortunately I don't know how to do that.
I use NetbeansLambda8, not 7.3 RC2, if you are using that, that could be the issue... I didn't even think 8 would work on 7.3.... That was I thought the point of the new Lamba8 Netbeans?
which I found here http://openjdk.java.net/projects/lambda/
