I am not sure about setting the AutoSubmit='true' on View objects.
AutoSubmit property for a UI component is mainly used when we want to do partial refresh for other UI component. When we set AutoSubmit property for a UI component as true, it automatically submits a value on any value change and allows other components to refresh with partial refresh property set to 'true'.
Adding one more point here
It's require when you are using ADS (Active Data Service) feature.So in this case you should have auto submit true on the attribute so that it will trigger require data change value automatically in UI.This what i understood while implementing shared am for ADS support.

Yes, It is used primarily for updating 2nd UI Component based on the 1st one's value. Suppose you have two different lists of Countries and States. You should display states of the selected country in the first list.
Here you can set AutoSubmit=true for the Country list and add States list's partial refresh to the Countries list.
In this way, when value in the Country list changes, the States list will get an updated. Obviously, you will have to write the method to pick the correct list of states.
