10g to 11g Migration Path

I have a 3-node RAC cluster running on AIX 5.3, Oracle Database Enterprise Edition version 10.2.0.4 with ASM. Database size is 2TB. There is also a possibility of upgrading the OS to higher version i.e. AIX 6.1 or AIX 7.

In order to migrate this environment to 11g (Oracle Database Enterprise Edition 11.2.0.3), what will be the best approach while also maintaining minimal downtime?

    Hi,

If you/your company have much budget,
You can use Golden Gate to upgrade..

If using Oracle GoldenGate, would I need to acquire additional servers to setup the Oracle 11g RAC? Or I can remove one of the 3 nodes, wipe and install new OS + Oracle Clusterware 11g + create database, then use GoldenGate to perform migration + switch over and then wipe the 10g cluster and add it to the 11g cluster?
