I have Timesten 1122/Windows 7 32bit (UAC turned off for test environment) installed in Virtual Box VM/Windows 7 64-bit.
This is a very basic/fresh Timesten setup, without replication, cache group, etc.
It's been up and running no problem, until I change the computer name/hostname. C:\Users\ttadmin>ttdaemonadmin -start The service is not responding to the control function. More help is available by typing NET HELPMSG 2186. C:\Users\ttadmin>net helpmsg 2186 The service is not responding to the control function.
I check tterrors and ttmesg but there's no entry in there (I make sure of this by clearing the content first).
I tried to start Timesten Data Manager Service in Services, but it give error: Error 1053: The service do not respond to the start or control request in timely fashion.
If I change the computer name back as before, timesten running again as usual.
Is there a way to fix this error?
Thank you very much,

This is strange. I have changed the computer / hostname several times myself on Windows (XP and 7) and not encountered this problem. Can you please detail the exact steps you are going through and also indicate if you rebooted the machine after changing the hostname.
I think we will need to see the messages from the TimesTen daemon log (tterrors.log and ttmesgs.log in <tt_install_dir>/srv/info directory) from the time the daemon (service) would not start.
One thing to check is that the hostname you changed to can be resolved and the (correct) IP address determined. For example, can you ping the new hostname from the machine?
