    ASM Striping

    824495
      Hi
Is it possible to use other striping values as 128K or 1M in ASM?
      Best regards
      Peter

          Hi Peter,

the fine-grained stripe size is always 128k but the coarse sized stripe size (or allocation unit AU in ASM speak) can be set to more than 1MB, any power of 2 up to 64MB is ok and larger values may provide benefites for data warehouses:

          cheers

The "striping" capability can be controlled by using templates for this purpose, when you create a controlfile, a member of a redo log or a datafile you can change the kind of striping by setting some attributes, please check this link: [http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B28359_01/server.111/b31107/asmfiles.htm]

            Regards.
