Dear all,

i have windows server 2003 32 bit, oracle database 10gr2 32bit.
when i try to open my enterprise manager with the following link
http://regadminsrv.hct.org:5500/em/
it change the url like below
http://regadminsrv.hct.org:5500/em/console/database/instance/repDown

it show a page saying
The database status is currently unavailable. It is possible that the database is in mount or nomount state. Click 'Startup' to obtain the current status and open the database. If the database cannot be opened, click 'Perform Recovery' to perform an appropriate recovery operation.
but my database is up and running fine.
this is my production database,
any idea how to fix it?

Thanks

Is it dbcontrol or an enterprise manager? Is it on the same server where your oracle database is?

yes it is on the same server where my database is.

and i suppose http://regadminsrv.hct.org:5500/em to be the address use to open ENTERPRISE MANAGER.
if there is a difference , kindly guide me.

besides, when i try to close my dbconsole service from services.msc utility
it is not closed. there is a problem with it.

    Regards.

    1) connect as sys
    2) select username,account_status from dab_users where owner = 'SYSMAN'

    Post the result.

    Cause

The DB COntrol console process is unable to connect to the database it self from various reasons:

    1. the listener is not started

    2. the database is not registered with the given listener

    3. the DB Console configuration is incorrect for some reason

    4. Database is not opened or accessible for client connections.

    Solution

Verify if the DB Console process is able to connect to the database with:

    1. the listener is started and the database instance is registered: lsnrctl status <listener name>

    2. The SYSMAN account is unlocked nd the password is not expired.

    3. Open ORACLE_HOME/<hostname>_<SID>/sysman/log/emoms.trc for connection errors.

    3. Open ORACLE_HOME/<hostname>_<SID>/sysman/log/emoms.trc for connection errors.
    Show this logfile .
    could we reconfigure the dbconsole?
It's OK, But do you know SYSMAN's password?

You can configure but for that you need to know sysman and dbsnmp password

the logfile is very big, the last few lines are below
    [HttpRequestHandler-1693320] ERROR eml.OMSHandshake getParameterFromDB.402 - ORA-28000: the account is locked

    2013-03-02 13:05:17,397 [HttpRequestHandler-1693320] ERROR eml.OMSHandshake processFailure.619 - OMSHandshake failed.(AGENT URL = http://regadminsrv.hct.org:1830/emd/main)(ERROR = INTERNAL_ERROR)

    Hi,

Account status was LOCK(TIMED) , and after you unlocked but now still ORA-28000: the account is locked.
Then, I think that SYSMAN password is difference between EM config and DB.
So, maybe, You will connect EM by reconfigration..

    you seemed correct.
    but reconfiguration also failed.
