Hello, I was wondering if we can use HR APIs in a custom report to update data? I mean technically, I know I can and it will work as well. But just considering all aspects before making any changes.
To give more detail, we have a custom report that only reports data, if one of the fields is NULL, I need to dig into other columns in the table for reporting purpose. But now, they want me to populate that NULL field as well, so that it shows on the Oracle Form (Front End). So just checking if the norm is OK to write update statements or call APIs in a Custom PL/SQL report.
I do not see any side affect.
My only suggestion would be for each line to show previous value, new value, and a column withe the API output, in case an error occurs (e.g. record is lock, or whatever).
