I'm having an issue with sending files to a directory with scp. I need group read permissions for all files moved to this directory. I have tried using umask command but it is not working for me.
When I scp the file over the permissions become -rwx------ I need -rwxr----- or at least group read. If I create a file it get read automatically so I don't know what to do.
Anyone know any thing?
I tried scp -p and the file would keep the permissions from the original server. The issue is that the server permissions where -rw------- and I needed the permissions on the server that they where being moved to to be -rwxr----- so the -p would not work.
So I jut made a cron job to reset the permissions
