                              For now, there is no need to change /etc/host file. It can only be done by OS root user.

                              It bothers me that the tnsnames.ora file specifies SERVICE_NAME while listener.ora specifies SID.
                              IMO, both should use the same; either both use SID or both use SERVICE_NAME.

                                  Good Morning to all ;

                                  - I am very sorry for disturbing  sb AS per your suggestion i changed both name as MYDB.TEST.ORCLTEST.COM ( listener.ora ,tnsnames.ora)

                                  Could you please guide me how can i connect my DB ?

                                  Still i am trying but i can't succeed but i hope to solve my problem.

                                  Thanks ..

                                    Humor me & do the following steps because the listener will start & run when no listener.ora file exists

                                    cd /u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/network/admin/
                                    mv listener.ora listsner.ora.sav

                                    Above saves the original listener.ora with a new & different name.

                                    now reboot the system
                                    restart Oracle DB & the listener & wait 60+ seconds then issue OS commands below

                                    lsnrctl status
                                    lsnrctl service

                                    COPY the results from above then PASTE all back here
