    Error - Creating Resource Plan

    979508
      Good afternoon,

      I am trying to 'Add the APPUSER consumer group to the SYSTEM_PLAN resource plan. Change the level 3 CPU resource allocation percentages: 60% for the APPUSER consumer group and 40% for the LOW_GROUP consumer group'.

      SQL> BEGIN
      2 DBMS_RESOURCE_MANAGER.create_simple_plan (
      3 simple_plan => 'system_plan',
      4 consumer_group1 = 'APPUSER',
      5 group1_cpu3 => 60,
      6 consumer_group2 => 'Low_group',
      7 group2_cpu3 => 40
      8 );
      9 END
      10 /
      consumer_group1 = 'APPUSER',
      *
      ERROR at line 4:
      ORA-06550: line 4, column 1:
      PLS-00201: identifer 'CONSUMER_GROUP1' must be declared
      ORA-06550: line 2, column 1:
      PL/sql: Statement ignored

      Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong? I would greatly appreciate the input.

          Hi, you're missing a semicolon after the END statement.

            Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong? I
            Again? - You want us to tell you again?

            OK, for consumer_group1 you use just = instead of =>

            And, there are no arguments called
            group1_cpu3
            group2_cpu3

            They are called
            group1_cpu
            group2_cpu

            Why not focus on the question ou already asked in another and the correct answers given there.

            Do we have to start all over, again?

              First and foremost before you make a comment that is uncall for you need to gather all of facts. I am not rude, maybe rude is your trademark! You will never find a rude comment in this forum that is associated to my handle. I attempted to pick up where I left off, but for whatever reason I am not able to.

              Thank you!

                  Mr 976505

                  It considered rude never to close any threads.

                  It is also considered rude, to open exact same thread, after having at least to correct answers for very same question.

                  I do not need to gather all facts, but it would be nice if you could apply the them.

                  Why not start with why you do not belive this question is answered already?

                  Maybe you are facing some problem that we have not yet been able solve, but why start from very beginning of syntax simply being wrong?

                  Are you not able two understand two different people saying that your arguments are named (And used) wrongly?

                    I have taken the advice and tried everything suggestion that was given and I am still getting the same error message along with others. I am new to the forum so again before you call someone rude, you need to know the facts.

                      it works for me!
                        1  BEGIN
                        2   DBMS_RESOURCE_MANAGER.create_simple_plan (
                        3   simple_plan => 'system_plan',
                        4   consumer_group1 => 'APPUSER',
                        5   group1_cpu => 60,
                        6   consumer_group2 => 'Low_group',
                        7   group2_cpu => 40
                        8   );
                        9*  END;
                      SQL> /

                      PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.

                        I figured out what I was doing wrong. I was adding a space between = & > for: consumer_group1 = > instead of consumer _group1 =>.

                        I am curious, is there a way to designate a different level, if that makes any sense?

                        Thank you for your time and assistance.

                          As stated in the docs, you linked to yourself in previous thread:
                          Each consumer group specified in the plan is allocated its CPU percentage at level 2
                          So, like SY said in that thread, you would probably have to look into Creating Complex Resource Plans

                          Regards
                          Peter

                          P.S: If you want to ask more detailed questions about the Database Resource Manager, then PL/SQL forum is probably not the best place to do so

                            Since I am a newbie, am I correct in assuming that I would select Yes, my question has been answered to close this thread?

                            I greatly appreciate your help.

                              No problem , and sorry if I have been rude myself.

                              Yes, that would do it. This you can do at any time. Also old threads if you are happy with the answer and/or nothing more is being said.
