    Hi

Please show content of the file:
    /etc/hostname.e1000g0

    According:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E19082-01/819-6990/ipconfig-141/index.html

    Transmission status
RUNNING Indicates that the system is transmitting packets through the interface.

    man ifconfgi
-xmit Disable transmission of packets on an interface. The
interface will continue to receive packets.

    Try use command:
    ifconfig e1000g0 xmit

Some time snoop -d e1000g0 can help resolve problem

    Regards.

see the below printout from the system:

    ossuser@PNR1RAD01 # cat hostname.e1000g0
    PNR1RAD01
    ossuser@PNR1RAD01 # cat hostname.e1000g1
    10.200.3.58

    root@PNR1RAD01 # cat /etc/hosts
    #
    # Internet host table
    #
    127.0.0.1 localhost
    ::1 localhost
    10.200.2.73 PNR1RAD01 loghost
    10.200.3.58 PNR1RAD01

    One more observation:

    root@PNR1RAD01 # dladm show-dev
**e1000g0 link: down speed: 0 Mbps duplex: half**
e1000g1 link: up speed: 1000 Mbps duplex: full
e1000g2 link: unknown speed: 0 Mbps duplex: half
e1000g3 link: unknown speed: 0 Mbps duplex: half

    Hi.

Snoop can show present or not some other packets on network.

According dladm output it's look like physical problems ( link not ptresent).

Can you check LED's status on server, port status on switch, change ethernet cable, port on switch?

    Regards.

You could have been considerate and have had the manners to let everyone know. Then they would spend time or effort duplicating what you may have been already told elsewhere.

    Hi All,

There have been no changes made on the switch level, nor do i suspect anything on the port & cable as the ip defined on this interface is well reachable from another server.

I there any way to reset this interface as the link state shows down in the below o/p:

    root@PNR1RAD01 # dladm show-dev
**e1000g0 link: down speed: 0 Mbps duplex: half**
e1000g1 link: up speed: 1000 Mbps duplex: full
e1000g2 link: unknown speed: 0 Mbps duplex: half
e1000g3 link: unknown speed: 0 Mbps duplex: half

    Hi.
e1000g0 link: down speed: 0 Mbps duplex: half
and * ip defined on this interface is well reachable from another server ip defined on this interface is well reachable from another server* more like as conflict IP address.

Check arp table on another server and compare MAC address on e1000g0.

    Hi,

Your problem is in the /etc/hosts file. You have set the same name PNR1RAD01 to both interfaces e1000g0 and e1000g1

    the correct configuration should be:

    ossuser@PNR1RAD01 # cat hostname.e1000g0
    PNR1RAD01
    ossuser@PNR1RAD01 # cat hostname.e1000g1
    PNR1RAD02

    root@PNR1RAD01 # cat /etc/hosts
    #
    # Internet host table
    #
    127.0.0.1 localhost
    ::1 localhost
    10.200.2.73 PNR1RAD01 loghost
    10.200.3.58 PNR1RAD02

Reboot the machine for the changes to take effect and then check the status of the interface (ifconfig -a)

    Regards,
    Rei
