In the apex page that the popup window uses ensure you have a branch to the same page with the include process success message checked. In the skill builders modal dynamic action you need to make sure you have the correct jQuery selector for the for the message div on the popup page. The modal popup should then automatically be closed and the auto close event fire.
First of all thank you paul. secondly, i am new to apex and just started.
I have everything setup as you mentioned but for some reason the modal page does not refresh
the original page and the success messages does not display either. I have also setup the links using modal
popup and that does not popup either. id is realted to link and edit button is realted to
Here are the issues i am facing.
1. The edit pages does not refresh[Have setup the reset page], the old values are still displayed.
example: you can click on any one of the customers and update them and then go back and click
on the other it will display the same data.
2. the auto close sometimes does not close automitacally.
3. The edit link does not pop up with the modal page.
Removed the link. Thanks Paul i will, test them and let you know.
Any help to fix the issues is greatly appreciated. Thanks a million
and also thanks to skillbuilders for a such great plugin.
Once again, Thank you!.

No problem, I have some resources you can look at that may help. Fortunately this plugin has lots of documentation so the next step is to check you have followed everything in that:
This is a webinar on using the plugin - http://skillbuilders.com/download/download-resource.cfm/instructions.pdf?file=Oracle-Apex/plugins/modal_page//instructions.pdf
This is the written documentations for the plugin - http://skillbuilders.com/download/download-resource.cfm/instructions.pdf?file=Oracle-Apex/plugins/modal_page//instructions.pdf
This is a demo app that can be installed in your environment to test- http://skillbuilders.com/download/download-resource-restricted.cfm/modal_page.zip?file=Oracle-Apex/plugins/modal_page/modal_page.zip
All these links can be found on the Skillbuilders website: http://skillbuilders.com/oracle-apex/APEX-Consulting-Training.cfm?tab=free-plugin-downloads
If you still don't have any luck after using these resources create a demo of your application on apex.oracle.com and I will try to have a look.
Copied app 69172
Customer ID column modified to include link text
dynamic action to refer to .edit, not #edit
Add item params to supply event with info
now opens modal
p300 edit now just does redirect, instead of attempting to open another modal
p301 branches to new blank page, and success message induces auto close
though if no change, currently doesn't close.
This is similar to how I've used it.
I learnt alls this mostly from webinar, but used sample app to aid - did you look at any of this?
I had a look at your demo app and created you a couple of new pages with an example. I did this as you had various elements on your pages that weren't required.
You can also import the demo application I gave the link to earlier.
Your report on page 1 has a link to page 2 with the Link Attribute set to onclick="return false;" class="edit-link"
I then created the dynamic action with an event of click and jQuery Selector of: a.edit-link then entered a true action of Skill Builders Modal Page.
This then opens page 2 the form, the form can then be updated and it will autoclose as a success message is displayed when a change is made.
To refresh the report on page 1 I added a second dynamic action event: Auto Close (Skill Builders Modal Page)
Select Type: Dom Object
Dom Object: Document
Then create a true action to refresh the report region.
This works correctly for me.
Hope this helps
