Can anyone shed any light on why someone would think that feature requests for improved documentation of existing features are "not desirable"? (See requests AEY6, AC2B, and ABPE.)
Do they possess esoteric knowledge of these features such that their livelihood would be threatened by wider understanding of how to use them effectively?
(And while we're here, is there any way ofcreating a working link direct to a feature request in the app?)
Likely it is the Apex developer who would be in charge of creating said documentation that thinks it is undesirable. If it were desirable for them to do, they'd have documented things a long time ago. Ya know like htmldb_Get which I think is still not actually documented.

htmldb_Get did not get never documented. It might be or become deprecate.
I think that is great.
