I have two servers Sun Fire T2000 with a date problem
the date suddenly changes and resets to an old date even after I refix the date
it then changes suddenly back the day after without rebooting or anything
so I guess it's because of the hardware clock watch
so how can I change and make sure that the hardware clock watch is fixed or set correctly?
or do you think that there is another reason for this ?
Thanks in advance
What mean "old date" ? It fixed value or some delta from correct value ?
One possible reason: you syncronize with bad time server ( or uncorrect configured TimeZone).
Check for running daemon ntp or scheduled ntpdaterdate via cron ( crontab -l )
It's a Sun Fire T2000 server
and the date is changed suddenly without any intervention which causes so many problems in the applications working on it
I don't know but I'm thinking of the battery which stores the hardware clock watch on the board
am I thinking correctly ?
because it's very weird
I tried the NTP configuration but still I'm looking for the root cause :)
Thanks for your answer and help :)
