My guess is that the two sections titled "See Also" and "Note" do not specifically refer to the SE1 edition, but to section 1.7 as a whole. Agree that it is poorly worded and can be explained better.
This version of the same Doc - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/install.112/e24321/install_overview.htm#i1106622 - has a feedback section at the very bottom

I couldn't find your specific version of the doc - so I googled E16763-05 and found http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E18246_01/doc/install.112/e16763/install_overview.htm#i1106622
My comments were related to the above version.
I typically start with http://docs.oracle.com and drill down to the 11gR2 Install Guide for Linux which takes me to http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/install.112/e24321/install_overview.htm#i1106622 - which seems to be a slightly different version - I haven't dug deep enough to determine what is different or why two different versions of the same doc exist.

The degree to which those notes are indented is what makes them appear (to me) to be subordinate to the particular note on SE-One. And once picked up on that, looking around at some more of those types of notes it appears to be a common "issue". I'll need to on the alert for that possible mis-understanding of their intent, going forward. Also, see my reply to Srini re: the lack of the hierarchical section numbering in the pdf doc, vs. the html version.Pg. 1-10, as a sub paragraph under discussion of Standard Edition OneNo, it is a sub-paragraph to Section 1.6 "Oracle Database Editions". Thus, it applies to all Editions.
