We have a Sun Storedge 3300 connected to a Sunfire V250 box running solaris 9 that its reporting some damage disk . I currently own some new spare disks but I need some assistance on how to replace them. Here's a image of the server http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/4826/storedge3300baddisks.jpg . I will like to know if I take one out and replace it with a new one will be enough for the storage to be up and running. Should I turn off the server and storage before replace?
(1) I have arranged for your post to be moved from the Solaris 9 forum to the Storage General Discussions forum. You appear to have a storage administration question on your storage hardware and not any particular question about Solaris 9.
(2) Perhaps you can review the documentation for your storage hardware:
There is likely a description in there, somewhere, such as a:
"Sun StorEdge 3000 Family Installation, Operation, and Service Manual"
"Sun StorEdge 3000 Family Best Practices Manual"
