Hi,
I can't install xorg-x11-apps on my virtualbox:

[root@db01 ssh]# yum install xorg-x11-apps
Loaded plugins: security
Setting up Install Process
No package xorg-x11-apps available.
Error: Nothing to do

Any suggestions?
Cheers

There is no Virtualbox help at this OTN forum site.
That is deliberate. They are their own entity and operate separately from Oracle.
Virtualbox has their own web site.
    Virtualbox has their own forums.

    Hi,
i guess this is a more generic question that anything else.
I have access to the web but can't install an application.
Any way to test that I actual have access to the repository (and this shouldn't be a virtual box specific question)
    Regards

But his question has nothing to do with VBox. He just mentioned that it is running under vbox in the interest of 'full disclosure'.

    Ed,
Yes, I included that in the possibilities of their initial post.
However, if an incomplete Vbox configuration is "getting in the way" (as opposed to seeing those symptoms with a bare metal OS installation) then they'll need guidance from the other web resources.

Your post lacks very important information, such as, which is the OS distribution and version, does the computer and more important the guest OS running in the virtual machine have access to the Internet?

Until this is answered the problem could be a VirtualBox configuration issue, e.g. wrong network adapter, or missing repository configuration file.
