Is it Possible to run multiple Listener for each database instance. Like 2 Listener and 2 instances where Listener A is responsible for instance A and Listener B is responsible for instance B. I have tryied to do that but after starting the Listener B the Listener A shuts down. Is it possible and if it is possible what should i check?? I have found the following post http://www.dba-oracle.com/t_configure_multiple_listeners.htm where the second listener is configured in the second oracle home. Do i realy need second oracle home to run second listener? or is the problem in my configuration?
It is also possible to poke yourself in the eye with a sharp pencil.
You would be wise to avoid doing either activity due to the pain that results.
Simply put, you do not "need" to create & support more than 1 listener.
Thank you. A very simple and effective answer!
