I apologize if my question is trivial, but I am out of ideas at this point.
I have a Solaris 10 Intel installation , full scale one
The installation has been configured UTF8
Now I have this character
But when I paste it in vi I get
Looks to me like it's octal representation
My terminal client is using UTF8 character encoding
-bash-3.00$ cat /etc/default/init
-bash-3.00$ locale -m
I also tried
uncompress /usr/lib/localedef/src/en_US.UTF-8/*Z followed by reboot to no avail
What am missing / doing wrong ?
Yes and the result is still the same.
By comparison I don;t have this issue in RedHat at all.
And has the same locale defined etc etc.
Now not sure if that makes any diference but on my machine I ran ssh 1.1
