We have tried using the archive directory option and its archiving the file in remote FTP server directory but not on our local unix directory.Current B2B archive feature is working as designed however B2B product development is working on implementing the local archive option. You have two options -
1. Either use SOA FTP adapter (or any other FTP client) to get the files from FTP server and archive at local directory and then pass the file to B2B (through local directory/FILE protocol) for further processing
2. Or, raise a SR with support and escalate it to get the local archive feature in 11g
As of now, no patch/fix is available which provides local archiving in B2B 11g.
Thanks for your response.
I have raised this question to Oracle SR and as per oracle, development team is already working on this (BUG 9085964) and will be relased in 12.3 release.
Is it possible for us to get the EDI file from backend b2b tables?
Do you need to keep the files for 5 years? :)
Yes, the EDI data gets stored in B2B tables (in SOAINFRA schema) so you may retrieve it from there but keeping large amount of old data in DB may impact your B2B server's performance and that's why it is suggested to purge the runtime data regularly. You may archive the data from runtime tables before purging it and store it for as long as you want. In case you need to retrieve some old file then just restore the archive and query the B2B tables.
If your client is using Oracle DB then you may refer -
Purging is explained here -
