ORA-00600 Error

Hi all

My Oracle Database Version is Oracle Database 11g Release 11.2.0.1.0 - 64bit
My Operating System is Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard(64-bit OS)

I have a error in alert log file which was generated on MAR-22-2013 & MAR-23-2013, but my database is working fine..

I don't know the cause of this error?

My log files details show as below..

    Hi,

    Since your database is working fine after throwing ora 600 you just need to take pricautions and hence raise a SR with oracle for more info since they are the only who will help you with ora 600 in a better way and you should do it on priority.

    ORA-600 is called as internal error and for this you need to refer to "ora-600 lookup tool" in My oracle support. there you will find the exact reason and solution for your issue.

    if it is not documented, then it is advised to raise SR with oracle support.

    by the way, have you opened the trace file mentioned in alert log and checked it?

    Hi,
    Refer to MOS note ID 1050103.1. This is because of a bug fixed in 11.2.0.2. This is related to index shrinking with statement ALTER INDEX SHRINK... command.

    This is oracle internal error, might have some issues with harddisk also.

    Pls. approach Oracle for detailed help.

    As per metalink id 435780.1

    sql> show parameter archive_lag_target;

    if archive_log_target value is other than 0 than alter it to zero which will solve ur problem.

    from your trace file it is clear that shrink command is having issue. As Salman suggested, refer to this MOS doc 1050103.1.

    its a BUG.as per the metalink Interim patches are no longer created for this release, apply the PSU(11.2.0.3) to over come this issue.
    please check below.
