1)Once you grant a priv, it will remain until someone revokes it.
2)We have two scheduling interfaces in the database. DBMS_JOBS and DBMS_SCHEDULER. Both can be accessed in SQL Developer under the Scheduler Node in the connection tree for your user. We have a wizard for creating a 'New Job.' Set your type of job to 'Stored Procedure' and then specify your package.procedure/function call.
And of course please be sure to read the DOCS for the scheduler first.
1) Is there a command to verify the granting is sucessful?
2) Not able to see DBMS_JOBS and DBMS_SCHEDULERThe SQL developer. Could it be the version that I'm using (version 1.5.5). If so, how to proceed without the interfaces?
1.5 is a little old. Can you upgrade to v3.2.20_09?
There are several views you can query to confirm current priv levels
I have upgraded to 3.2.20.09. I can see "Scheduler-Schedules" and "Scheduler-DBMS Jobs" under the user name. I right clicked "Schedules-new schedule-(key in name, description, the repeating time, start date and click apply)", it said successful but did not see the newly schdeule in the schedules. Also, how to go about keying in the pkg name in the scheulde?
OK, I mgt to see the schedule that I created, it is under the very top tree of the Scheduler-Schedules. I hope this is correct, but I still don't know how and where as well as syntax to key in to schedule the pkg to run?
Appreciate any pointer.
A Schedule is not a job.
I recommend taking a step back and reading this a few times before you proceed any further
