There has been some Notification plugin for success messages? and even a blog post about using the gritter/growl-style floating notification box for showing APEX generated server-side success messages. Doug's blog post does a great job of explaining how to do it but it still seems like a lot of work :-)
Can the official Oracle notification plugin be used to do this instead? The forum post referred to above asks the exact same question but it has been almost 2 years since the question was asked. Has someone written up a plugin that implements all the steps Doug shows?
If you want it specifically for success messages, while still submitting the page - I would:
Define item on page zero that stores message.
Populate this in your page processes that display message.
On load DA on page zero conditionally fires on message being not null
- one action to display notification plugin
- another action to clear item
If you don't submit the page, you could have a DA fire onChange of the page zero item
Ok, I have no experience with this plugin (by maybe I'll go play with it now), but wouldn't it be a little less painful and scalable to do what the Modal Page plugin that Dan McGhan created does?
You watch the page for the selector of the text message, like $("div#success-message") and then grab that text and use it to change the styling with the other notification plugin. Or with the jquery plugin directly?
The basic structure could be something like:
// find the message
// get the text
// remove the original message
// notify it
Hope you don't mind me jumping in on the discussion.
Thanks for the ideas.
