Oracle 11g R2 on CentOS 6.3, and Net Configuration Assistant

1000008
    This is my first time to install Oracle 11g R2 on Linux.

    I made all instructions in Oracle documentation.

    But in the installation process, the Net Configuration Manager is failed.

    I continued the process, and after it finished, I couldn't connect to the sqlplus.

    This is my tnsnames.ora

    # tnsnames.ora Network Configuration File: /Oracle/u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/db_1/network/admin/tnsnames.ora
    # Generated by Oracle configuration tools.

    )
    and listener.ora

    TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
    TNS-00511: No listener
    Linux Error: 111: Connection refused

    My Solutions:

    I open ./netca to reconfigure the listener again.

    But the program told me that the port is in use.

    I deleted it and added a new one but the same warning that port is in use

        V11.2.0.1.0 is NOT certified on Centos V6+

        do as below

        lsnrctl stop
        cd /Oracle/u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/db_1/network/admin/
        mv listener.ora listener.ora.sav
        lsnrctl start
        # wait 60+ seconds before proceeding
        lsnrctl status
        lsnrctl service

        COPY the results from above then PASTE all back here

                CentOS is not a supported distro for Oracle installs. For RHEL 6.x, you will need version 11.2.0.3, which is only available on My Oracle Support (https://support.oracle.com), access to which requires a paid support contract. If you wish to install 11.2.0.1, then you will need to use RHEL/OEL 5.x

                  Hello to all;
                  CentOS is not a supported distro for Oracle installs
                  Does it mean to 11g ? or all oracle versions.

                  Someone  guide me to install  CentsOS 5.2  or 5.5  for oracle 10g. Shall i proceed  or ignore it ?

                    CentOS is not a supported distro for Oracle installs; any, all & every Oracle version.

                    V10 Oracle is obsoleted & no longer available without a paid & extended support contract.

                        I know my mistake, that I didn't change the database directory permission to be oracle as its owner and oinstall as its group owner
