By database , is it revering to the source or the target ?
Assuming that its source does that mean:
1. I need to use gg 11.2 for 10g for replicating a 10g database to a 10g/11g database (target) ?
2. Also, if on the same server , I have a 11g db as well which I want to use it as a source then I will have use a different built (gg 1.2 for 11g ) ?
Ok. I am hoping that I am getting it right now .Couple of statements and you can correct me if I am wrong -
1. If I have a source 10g and target 10g then I use 10g built for both source and target
2. If source is 10g and target is 11g then for source I use 10g built and for target I use 11g built

I am a novice in golden gate and still trying to get my arms around it.
When downloading the software (golden gate 22.214.171.124) i see the software is available in 2 files:
goldengate 126.96.36.199 for 10g
golden gate 188.8.131.52 for 11g
What does this mean ? Is it sepcific to the database version (10g or 11g) that I am goin to use it on ?
