i am new on apex and will like to know how to enable or configure apex 4.2 for a "friendly print" of my reports.
actually if i am in a report and press the print key from my browser, i can print but it looks more like a"print screen" than a nice report.
Well, what you will need to do is setup a print server to process your report printing and also build report templates if you want the reports to print in a nice format..
Do you have access to BI Publisher at your company? If so then : https://blogs.oracle.com/xmlpublisher/entry/apex_users_why_not_integrate_w
if you don't have access and the cost of BI Publisher is quite a tidy sum.. You can look at other solutions:
Jasper Reports with APEX: http://www.opal-consulting.de/apex/f?p=20090928:4:0
Apache FOP: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/apex/application-express/configure-printing-093060.html
Just to be clear.. Most of these solutions will build a PDF style file and THEN your users can print it to a printer.. I believe there are ways to print to a network printer directly with jasperreports and BI Publisher but have never had the chance to try..
