I am using Java 7 and browser Mozilla Firefox 19.0 and Internet Explorer 8 and 9.
My application need my applets to access cookies(jsessionid) for generating some id.
But i am unable to access cookies while accessing through my applet.
While going through bugs raised on Java i found this is similar to BUG [6890023|http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6890023]
And according to BUG [6865629 |http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6865629] this issue has been resolved and back ported to earlier versions.
But i am hitting this bug with java7. I was unable to test the same on Java 1.6 as no plugin is available for it on Mozilla.
That bug is completely and utterly unrelated. Unless you are doing requests using an URLConnection from your applet.
It doesn't help that you don't provide the code which you use to try and access said cookie. Did you follow the documentation on this topic?
And I quote:
"Note: You must sign your RIA JAR file in order to access cookies."
Thanks for the reply and information but I tested my code on a machine with Internet explorer9 and Java 18.104.22.168 installed on local machine and is working perfectly fine. And the Id required is generated quite smoothly without any errors or warnings. But as i upgrade to Java7 it fails. I followed the logs and found that my applet is not being able to access the cookies and the code dies at the point of accessing the cookies.
