Hi All,

Can you please let me know what is " Oracle Stream" and is there any relation between Materialized View?

what is the main difference between MV and Stream?

Which one is suggested?

Have gone through some documents and got the information like " Propagation" ...

But I didn't get clear idea on this. So can any one please let me know about this ?

Thanks.

Thanks for your quick response. I have gone through the documents. But here they covered MQ,STREAM .. concepts...

But I would like to know where and what exactly Oracle Streams and in what conditions we are going to use this concept. Can any one please explain me.

    Thanks.

    Both.

The documentation [url http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e17516/tdpii_intro2ii.htm#autoId6]is quite clear:

Use Streams when you want an exact copy of the data, with near real time replication and you have guaranteed continuous network capacity to deliver it.

Use Materialized Views when you want to replicate sub-sets or aggregations of your data, or you don't need NRT replicdation.

    Cheers, APC
