    Unable to access Oracle Database Express Edtion homepage after instalation

    1000659
      Hello,

      I've installed Oracle Database Express Edtion in a machine running windows vista, the application was successfully installed but when I try to access http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex, the webpage is not available.

      When I try to connect to sqlplus with sysadmin credentials I get the error: ORA-12638: Credential retrieval failed.

      tnsping to localhost using IP or machine name returns OK.

      The content of listener.ora is:

      SID_LIST_LISTENER =
      (SID_LIST =
      (SID_DESC =
      (SID_NAME = PLSExtProc)
      (ORACLE_HOME = C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server)
      (PROGRAM = extproc)
      )
      (SID_DESC =
      (SID_NAME = CLRExtProc)
      (ORACLE_HOME = C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server)
      (PROGRAM = extproc)
      )
      )

      LISTENER =
      (DESCRIPTION_LIST =
      (DESCRIPTION =
      (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = IPC)(KEY = EXTPROC_FOR_XE))
      (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = soniapc.faleixo.local)(PORT = 1521))
      )
      )

      DEFAULT_SERVICE_LISTENER = (XE)

      Bellow there are the results of commands lsnrctl status and lsnrctl service.

      Anyone could help?
      Thank you

          Note the Listener Endpoints section, there must be a port 8080 entry for Apex to be happy.

          This can happen when something isn't quite correct with the host network client configuration.

          If the host has multiple NICs, that can complicate things. If not, or if you want the the listener to work on all interfaces, in your listener.ora file the configuration bit:
          ... (HOST=SONIAPC.faleixo.local) ...
          Can be changed to HOST= 0.0.0.0 to let the listener create endpoints on any IP belonging to the host. That should fix the Apex service and web pages.

          Stop the listener and update the listener.ora HOST= setting. The HOST= can be a hostname, or it can be an IPv4 address. When using hostname, it has to be the correct hostname

          Or, stop the listener, and move (rename) the listener.ora configuration file. If you rename the file to i.e. listener.ora.bak that should fix it as well. The web pages should start working within a few minutes after starting the listener, or to hurry things up a bit get the instance to register with the listener after its restarted. In a command box (Start/Run/cmd.exe):
          lsnrctl start
          ...
          sqlplus /nolog
          connect system
          ... password ... Connected.
          alter system register;
          exit;
          lsnrctl stat
          ...
          lsnrctl serv
          ...
