    Missing KEY_HOME_NAME in registry

I am new to Oracle and would appropriate any help. :)

I downloaded Oracle Database 11g Release 2 Client ( for Microsoft Windows (32-bit). When I looked in the Windows registry, I did not see HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE\KEY_HOME_NAME. Would there be a reason this was not set?

          Srini Chavali-Oracle
Pl post exact OS version - supported OS versions are documented - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/install.112/e24187/pre_install.htm#BABGAGFD

Did the install complete successfully without any errors ? Pl check the install log file for any errors and post them here - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/install.112/e24187/ts.htm#i1090466

Probably this has nothing to do with Oracle.

On x64 win os', Registry entries for 32-bit software are routed to the Wow6432Node branch. (Look for ORACLE... underneath it.)

Similar to "x86", SysWOW64, 32-bit ODBC DSNs, etc. for the (32-bit) WOW64 environment.
