How to Protect ASM diskgroup during clusterware re-installation
Apr 6, 2013 7:30 AM
We have some problems with clusterware (10.2.0.4) on one of the node. During the troubleshooting, the clusterware on both the nodes is down.
We have Sev1 SR and still no resolution for this Issue.
Now we have decided to re-install the clusterware. During this, I want to know how to procted the ASM diskgroup which has data.
I hope, after the clusteware re-installation, we just need to Mount this ASM diskgroup, which will serve the purpose i guess.
But, one important question is, Will my ASM home / RDBMS home work fine with the new clusterware installation ?? Do i need to re-install them again ??

If all you are doing is re-installing Clusterware then that should not impact your database files that lie on ASM.
Your ASM and RDBMS homes should work fine after the new Clusterware installation. You should not need to re-install them.
