What kind of filters are active? Also, are your working with calendar dates?
Also, to create a custom message to alert users to no data in the results of an analysis:
Edit the analysis to which you want to add a custom message.
Click the "Analysis editor: Results tab".
Click the Analysis Properties toolbar button. The "Analysis Properties dialog" is displayed.
In the No Results Settings box, select Display Custom Message.
In the Header field, enter the text of the header for the custom message.
In the Message field, enter the explanatory text.
Thanks Ama. But my concern here is that I expect the sample star schema that comes with the media pack to cater to all the analyses and filters in p6 analytics. I suppose its there as sample for demo and learning.
So I'm not looking to customize the message but I'm just not sure why am I not getting the output using the sample. I followed all the standard instructions on installation and configuration, but I'm not getting the output data.
I'm wondering anyone has tried using the sample star schema with p6 analytics and have gotten fully loaded dashboards.
That was my first attempt, using EPPM's pxrptuser, and running staretl for staruser. However there was insufficient data cos the projects I had in EPPM were the sample projects with insufficient data for the dashboards.
my second attempt: in 3.1, there is a sample staruser schema provided whereby if i were to use that, i do not need to run the staretl to fetch data from my eppm db. So when when I use a sample schema i'd expect it to have sufficient data to show up on the dashboards using the default citeria and filters however that's not happening. therefore I'm wondering why, and I'm looking to see if anyone else has faced this problem or were able to successfully get fully loaded dashboards using the sample schema from 3.1
I had some trouble with with the dumpdata so I simply took out the configuration and installed a new PMDB with Publishing Services and then set up the Publishing with the settings. And then I set up the Staretl Configuration with that settings, ran the staretl and then I had the data in the P6 Analytics.
You can find the settings in the dump under the table ETL_Parameter. These are easily readable and therfore you have the mapping.
