CREATING TWO REPORTS SIDE BY SIDE

Hello developers,
So, I am trying to create a report where when the end user opens a dashboard for lets say yr 2012, then data for 2011 will also come up for comparison purpose. Or if you select 2013, then 2012 comes up with its data along with the differences btn 13 year to the 12 yr... How do I go about, this? I created one report filtering a specific year; now I need re-create another one but I am thinking may be I can create a dashboard prompt to enable this. what do u think?

I have tried the sql statement in the year column filter in the first report so that it will show however yrs I want. I still get an error..

Please please help..

For the first report use report level filter for Year=2012 and for another as Year=2013 save them and add to the dashboard page side by side.

btw: there are other options to compare in one report using ago metrics or YTD or PYTD

    Sri,
My apology, I didn't explain my issue clearly. What I am trying to do is basically create a report where when the end user opens a dashboard for lets say yr 2012, then data for 2011 will also come up for comparison purpose. Or if you select 2013, then 2012 comes up with its data along with the differences btn 13 year to the 12 yr... How do I go about, this? I created one report filtering a specific year; now I need re-create another one but I am thinking may be I can create a dashboard prompt to enable this. what do u think?

    Any suggestion is highly appreciated...

    Thx

You might be using Prompt to select year, try to set presentation variable
In the report filter by Year and use the presentation varible
for another report substract -1 from presentation variable

Try to convert the filter to SQL from column->Filter->Advanced button
You might get datatype issues for previous year when substracting -1 try to use cast.

    Sri,
Thanks for the prompt response, I am not quite sure If I understood. I can easily create a presentation prompt, however will this prompt bring let's say 2012, 2011 and the comparison/difference at the same time?

If my Time Dim table is "time" "fiscal year date"; can you give me the sample SQL statement? Cause I tried writing the SQL statement it didn't work

Sorry, I am still new in OBIEE

    SELECT Time."Year" saw_0, "Sales" saw_1 FROM "SA" WHERE Time."Year" = '@{Yr}{2012}' ORDER BY saw_0

    SELECT Time."Year" saw_0, "Sales" saw_1 FROM "SA" WHERE Time."Year" = cast( @{Yr}{2012} as int) -1 ORDER BY saw_0

    Yr is my presenation variable @{Yr}{2012}

    If need send me email

    Thanks Sri,
I will probably send you an email; I am probably not explaining myself well. Cause I tried your sample SQL (obviously customizing according to my environment, still no luck)
