    Problem with the cksum

    1003674
      Hi,
      I would like to download
      linux.x64_11gR2_database_1of2.zip (1,239,269,270 bytes) (cksum - 3152418844)
      linux.x64_11gR2_database_2of2.zip (1,111,416,131 bytes) (cksum - 3669256139)

these cksum are not the MD5, SHA1, SHA256, SHA384, SHA512 checksum numbers. What am I to do with this number ? Why you do not put a simply MD5 checksum like before ? I think, it will be more easy for all peoples, no ?

      Thanks

      Paul

I assume you are referring to the downloads here - http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/enterprise-edition/downloads/112010-linx8664soft-100572.html

Have you tried the simple "cksum <file>" command ? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cksum

But, I would like to do the same check in Windows 7. It's possible ?

            Thanks for your time.

For Windows, you will need a third-party cksum utility - use google to search

                Hi Srini,

For the HTH, I found it but I have to compile it in windows. I have no gcc in windows. But I found something else at
                http://www.jonelo.de/java/jacksum/index.html#Download
                in the optional paragraphe.

                The program is jacksum-1.7.0-windows-explorer-integration-1.3.0.zip (August 14, 2010)

                Filesize: 225913 bytes
                MD5: 8b28f643ef8709728ecf454f32750465
                SHA1: 714c6ca1c58316bf4ed91a5ec4b7b607807e93f1
                SHA256: 0bb88c6116d52ae60750b059d8e5ae40371079871ec28f240b3806eff47f57b9

works for the Windows Explorer on Windows NT/2000/2003/XP/2008/Vista/7

We have the .exe file. Just double click on the .exe file. I test in 7 and it works.
o In Explorer windows, we have to right click on the file to test.
o Choose the "Send to" and the "Jacksum - cksum".
o After some sec or min, you will see a new notepad windows with the good results.

                It's greats.

                Thanks for all :)
