Hello,

If there is a gap of 100s or 1000s archivelogs between primary & standby and if redo gap is not resolved automatically, Which one is the recommended method to fill that gap? I think using RMAN incremental backup is the best method.

Thanks

    Hello,

    there is no recommended method, the result will be the same.
    But with that amount of missing logs, making an incremental backup will be easier and faster.

    Other good method will be not to use such standby database if it can't resolve gaps. Or not to use such DBA if he creates such bad standby databases. :)

    yeah using rman incremental backup will be best solution

    get rman incremental backup and standby controlfile and copy to standby location

    and resart the standby by connecting to rman as

    catalog start with ' backup loc';
