I downloaded the new firmware but I'm running into issues while reading the XSCF document.
I've tried a few different things when I run setnetwork xscf#0-lan#0 -m 255.255.255.0 <ipaddress> I want to set, I get invalid parameter.
So I did the platsetup and it resulted in the same thing. Apparently a network was already configured on it, but the ip address isn't correct and for some reason I can't change it. Looking I think I have the command correct, but I don't see why it keeps giving me an error.
So I burned it to a disk and put it in the CD-Rom drive, but the document gives zero instructions on how to load firmware with cdrom other than it's available.
After searching the web, I found instructions of cfgdevice -y -c attach -p 0-0 which gives operation not supported on this system.
Version -c xscf gives 01.09.0003 reserve 01.09.0003 current
I can't be of any additional help, other than to suggest you get back to Techsupport (hopefully to that exact same Support Engineer that assisted with the back-out you have mentioned) and have them help you.
Cannot check name /u02/patches//var/sadm/pkg
... suggests to me that you may have removed entire packages and not just patches for packages.
Maybe the others that posted to this thread can take a peek here, as well.
