What are the difference between weblogic clustering and tomcat clustering? I heard that tomcat clustering can serve most of the purpose of weblogic clustering? like session replication, In memory replication, etc? how true it is and what extra weblogic provides over tomcat? The client is proposing to migrate from weblogic to tomcat. Hence, Please clarify.
Yep Tomcat can replicate sessions: http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-6.0-doc/cluster-howto.html. In addition to session replication WebLogic has some more advanced clustering features such as server and service migration - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/web.1111/e13709/toc.htm. Depends on what you need, of course (and the ease of administration you want).
