I am new to application server stuff and installing above mentioned release on Oracle enterprise linux AS 4. I have installed repository/OID on a separate machine and installing infrastructure on different machine but when installer asks for hostname and port of OID for connection, upon pressing next button it given error that "Error in getting port information" however listener is up and running on the machine where repository is installed. Please assist me to resolve this error. I am following guide http://www.freeoraclehelp.com/2011/09/oracle-application-server-10g-1014-sso.html. Please let me know if this guide is complete or not?
Secondly please direct me to some tutorial or document which explains components of Application server.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks EJ for reply but I have to work ton Application server 10g release 2 because it is already up and running but I am new to application server to I want to install/configure on my test machine in order to make myself familiar with it.
You have mentioned : I have installed repository/OID on a separate machine and installing infrastructure on different machine
I assume that you have done an OID installation. Is your OID server up and running, i.e. can you bind to it with ldapbind?
You also said : and installing infrastructure on different machine
An infrastructure is AS repository database + OID + SSO. So which option did you choose in the Installer.
Also check the installActions.log file created by the Universal Installer, this may provide you with additional information.
Thanks you so much Eric for responding to my thread. Please leave my previous issue as now I am installing Oracle Application Server infrastructure 10g on a HP server where I am getting following error while installer was configuring Single Sign on. The error is below; Exception while configuring SSO DAD: oracle.ias.sysmgmt.exception.InvalidConfigurationException: /oracle/software/infra/Apache/Apache/bin/httpd: error while loading shared libraries: libdb.so.2 can not open shared file: no such file or directory.
I have found that libdb.so.2 is present in /usr/lib/ and I have created symbolic link (ln -s libgdbm.so.2.0.0 libdb.so.2) but issue remains there. Can you please assist me to resolve this error?
The make of your server (HP) is not that important, it is the Operating System that matters.
We have seen some issues like this when installing on later versions of RHEL 5.x and Suse 10. Make sure that you have patched your operating system with the minimum versions for individual packages as per :
