I'm new to the DBA field and i'm learning things as I go along.
I'd like to know from those that have gone through this path before, what essential niches/corners of the DBA field I should master to become a well rounded DBA? And what if any particular courses you do recommend as valuable to a new DBA? (I've taken my intro training course on oracle database architecture)
I'm currently building databases for application projects, different environments with different settings. Doing a little bit of work with dataguard in the coming weeks and use grid control frequently. Slowly getting into query optimization as well though I think I'll need to take a course to master this there's a lot i don't quite know yet.
