Mapviewer integration with Oracle Database Features like:1 person found this helpful
- Virtual Private Database
- Workspace Manager
- Total Recall
Mapviewer/Oracle Maps supporting mobile applications, not using Oracle ADF DVT component, but HTML5/CSS3 web applications, device native or not.
Thanks Luis. Will address these. It'll be sometime after the user conference and the initial set of posts on the V2 API.
1- VPD (Virtual private database), for example how to define security and access level over rows or fields (e.g. spatial) of a database table . Even how can one define access levels over different tools in a mapviewer based application.
2-EDITOR: The new out of box java applet web editor is very perfect. However I think the source is closed and the users can't modify its look and feel. It would be nice if it was possible to translate it into another language for example via Locale. One more thing about the editor is that when we want to edit a geometry by selecting it, not all vertices of the geometry are shown. There is this bounding rectangle that is drawn around a shape which is not suitable for editing in many cases.
So posting some articles about the new Web Based Editor will be a charm. :)
3-OBIEE: Integration of BIEE and Mapviewer.
Initial thoughts on blog topics:
1. Managing client-side styles between MapBuilder and V2.
2. Client-side linestyles in V2.
3. Client-side labeling of lines in V2.
Thanks for the suggestions. This'll keep us busy for a while!
It'll be 2-3 more on V2 API basics and then the topics probably starting with OBIEE map views.
