    1008116
      hi!

i'm very new here as well as using solaris 11
and i'm trying to get the certificates and i'm not getting there
      i went to https://pkg-register.oracle.com/register/status/
      this is what i get

There has been a problem with contacting the entitlement server. You will only be able to issue new certificates for public products. Please try again later

and there's no certificate for solaris 11

something i'm missing of doing wrong?
i went through the posting and didn't see any, if there's already an existing post of help pages please direct me
      thank you

Certificates can only be generated if you have a support contract for the required product.

            Hi Pascal,

Just to follow up, is a solaris support package affordable for individual use as or is it only necessary for corporations? Moreover, what exactly are the benefits of the support (is there a big performance difference or larger repository?) I badly need a broadcom wireless driver for a netbook to run solaris and think it would be worth the money. Furthermore, I like the idea of contributing to the project, I'm really satisfied using it so far.

            Best,
            Aubrey.

The support package is available for everyone and is not limited to corporates. But it can be excessive depending the platform you use, and this is also the case with the standard Linux distributions, other UNIX distributions and Windows . But if you look for stability and security, the cost is negligible.

You have, with this contract, access to : firmwares, critical security patches, bug fixes, feature enhancements, and even any new releases that become available while you maintain active support coverage. This include Oracle Linux, Oracle Solaris, Oracle VM and Enterprise Manager Ops Center.
