Using Windows 7 Professional (at work)
When I leave SQL Developer running at work, and remote desktop from home, SQL Developer vanishes (the process isn't there anymore). My home PC is Windows 7 Professional. Has anyone experienced this? Is there a fix? Thank you.
Not much to go on.
You could try updating to the latest version if you haven't already.
Try launching it from a command window to see if there any messages. Open a command window, then run <sqldev>\sqldeveloper\bin\sqldeveloper.exe instead of the usual executable.
To add to Jim's comments...
1. A likely candidate for a message in the console: OutOfMemory (or perhaps something about exceeding the Java garbage collector's overhead limit).
2. Possibly a third-party extension you installed could be the cause. Review what you have installed versus what you actually use.
3. In a few old posts on this forum, some claim to have had a more stable environment using one Java version over another. Try the latest in the jdk1.6.0 code line.
I have the same problem and i'm using the SQL Developer latest version: Version 3.2.20.09 Build MAIN-09.87.
When i'm on remote via RDC the display is blank and i have to kill sql developer and restart it. After that it's working well.
Waiting for V4... :-)
