For 12c forget Grid Control and use the term Cloud Control. How do you know Enterprise Manager Base Platform - OMS is Cloud Control? Good question... it just is.
If you enter Enterprise Manager Base Platform - OMS, Release:184.108.40.206.0, Linux x86-64 Oracle Linux
And follow the link:Certification Details for Notes and Support information you will see "Enterprise Manager Base Platform - OMS 220.127.116.11.0 is certified on Linux x86-64 Oracle Linux 6"
Every version has bugs, but if you go directly to the last version 18.104.22.168 the number is limited. But .... as always it depends what kind of targets you have and what options you use.
Since 12c is fairly different from 11g I would advice you to first get familiar with this version and first create an EMCC environment to monitor/control a number of non production targets.
One more question: under certification tab, I searched following:
Enterprise Manager Base Platform - OMS 22.214.171.124.0 is certified on Linux x86-64 Oracle Linux 6
under column certified with, the last one is Virtualization Software: Oracle VM server for x86 (Managed Target).
what does (Managed Target) mean?
why "Oracle VM server for x86" not x86-64?
