To configure ASM disk you need to perform following steps:

              1. Find out kernel version of your OS using " *# uname -a*"

              2. Download related ASMlib rpms from OTN

              3. RPM like this:

              4. Install RPM using this command:

              # rpm -ivh --nodeps oracleasm*

              5. Configure ASMlib RPMs

              [root@host01 ~]# oracleasm configure -i
Configuring the Oracle ASM library driver.

Default user to own the driver interface [grid]: grid
Default group to own the driver interface [asmdba]: asmadmin
Start Oracle ASM library driver on boot (y/n) [y]: y
Scan for Oracle ASM disks on boot (y/n) [y]: y
Writing Oracle ASM library driver configuration: done

              [root@host01 ~]*#oracleasm exit*

              [root@host01 ~]*#oracleasm init*

              6. Create ASM disk using ASMlib:

              oracleasm createdisk ASMDISK01 /dev/sdb1

              oracleasm createdisk ASMDISK02 /dev/sdb2

              oracleasm createdisk ASMDISK03 /dev/sdb3

              oracleasm createdisk ASMDISK04 /dev/sdb5

              oracleasm createdisk ASMDISK05 /dev/sdb6

              oracleasm createdisk ASMDISK06 /dev/sdb7

              oracleasm createdisk ASMDISK07 /dev/sdb8

              oracleasm createdisk ASMDISK08 /dev/sdb9

              oracleasm createdisk ASMDISK09 /dev/sdb10

              oracleasm createdisk ASMDISK010 /dev/sdb11

              oracleasm createdisk ASMDISK011 /dev/sdb12

              oracleasm createdisk ASMDISK012 /dev/sdb13

              oracleasm createdisk ASMDISK013 /dev/sdb14

              oracleasm createdisk ASMDISK014 /dev/sdb15

              *7. Reload ASMlib driver:*

              [root@host01 ~]# oracleasm scandisks

              [root@host01 ~]# oracleasm listdisks

              Thanks & Regards,
