I have an upgrade scheduled for a E-business suite database. I have some requests scheduled during the time when my instance will be down. Can you please let me know if the scheduled concurrent programs(during upgrade) will start running once i bring up the instance after the upgrade?
Yes, scheduled concurrent requests will start executing when the concurrent managers are brought up after the upgrade. If you do not wish for this to happen, pl put on hold all of those scheduled concurrent requests and then release from hold after the upgrade as required.
Thanks Srini. Actually what I am asking is, suppose I bring down the instance at 10:00 PM CST and a concurrent program is scheduled to run at 11:00 PM CST. Will this program start running when I bring up the instance on the next day.
Thanks Srini. One last question, what will happen to a request that has already started running when I bring down the instance for upgrade. Will it start running again when I bring the instance up after upgrade?
If you shutdown the CM normally then it will wait for those requests to finish before it goes down. If you use the abort option (which is not recommended) then you will have to submit those requests again later.
