    timeout issue  (so_keepalive?)

    Val Popa-Oracle
Environment:Solaris 10 , one web server (weblogic), one application server and a database server with Oracle 11g R2 RAC database with 2 node cluster (2 local zones).

Issue: The end users logs into the application via browser URL. The user is able to navigate without any issues for 30 minutes from the time the application server is started.
After that 30 minutes, when a user clicks on any link in the application, the application keeps spinning and going nowhere for 2 to 3 minutes and then gets a 'page not found' error.
      1. This happens even when a user is actively navigating in the application.
      2. If a user starts a new session 30 minutes after the application server is started, the user will not be able to log in.
The application just hangs for 2 or 3 minutes and then gets a 'page not found' error.
      3. At this time if the application server is shut down and restarted, then all is well for 30 minutes and then the transaction dies.
Increasing the firewall timeout from 2 hrs to 3 hrs alleviates this issue, but can't be used as a fix because of security requirements.
Any thoughts, advice, opinions greatly appreciated.
